Community
The Community section in Orbit serves as a hub for users to stay connected with the BII community, promoting engagement and knowledge sharing across companies and people of the organization.
Once you click on Community, you’ll have access to these resources. This guide provides an overview of the features and functionalities available in this section.

Company Page
The Company Page offers a detailed list of all active companies on Orbit. On the left-hand side, users can apply filters—such as programs, verticals, and technologies — to refine the list of companies.
By selecting a specific company, users can access detailed information, including the team members and BII anchors associated with that company. Additionally, users can directly contact the company via email. For instructions on editing the information for your own company, refer here.
Admin Interface - Community
These features are exclusively available to the Program Management and Resident Program Coordinator. To access the admin interface, click on your profile image and select "Admin" from the dropdown menu. In the left-side menu, select the type of company depending on your role.
In the admin interface, company information is added and synchronized from Apollo, BII’s CRM tool.
Click the *triple-dot icon next to the desired company to open the options menu. From here, you can:
- Synchronize new and existing companies from Apollo.
- Verify the onboarding status.
- Edit company information. Information such as the company name, program type, and verticals must be updated in Apollo. These changes will automatically sync with Orbit.
- Re-invite companies to Orbit. Triggering the onboarding process can be executed manually by sharing the onboarding URL directly or automatically by letting the system send an invitation email for convenience.
-
Delete companies from Orbit. Please be mindful when using this function. If the contract expires, Apollo will be aware of that and remove the program automatically from Orbit. If deleted only from Orbit, the company will come again on the next synchronization.

Note: When a Venture or Bio Studio program completes its program at BII, the Community Relationship Manager updates the start-up's program status to “Alumni” in Apollo.
Alumni retain access to most services on Orbit, with the exception of the investment module.
People
The People Page provides a complete list of all active users on Orbit. Filters—such as programs, verticals, and cohorts—are available on the left-hand side to help narrow the list of users.
By selecting a user, others can view detailed information about that individual, including contact details (phone and email) and the events they are attending. Users can create their profiles during onboarding, and profiles can be updated at any time. For instructions on editing your profile, refer here.
Admin Interface - Community
These features are exclusively available to the Program Management and Resident Program Coordinator.
To access the admin interface, click on your profile image and select "Admin" from the dropdown menu. In the left-side menu, select “People”. In the admin interface, people’s information is added after the company admin invites the employee individually. Click the triple-dot icon next to the desired company to open the options menu. From here, you can:
- Edit user profiles. This allows the administrators to eventually correct mistakes in users profile info.
- Re-invite users to Orbit. This process can be done manually by sharing the onboarding URL directly or automatically by sending an invitation email.
- Delete users from Orbit.

Note: BII staff handles company invitations through synchronization with Apollo. After a company is invited, its admin takes responsibility for adding employees.
Employee data is not synced from Apollo, and managing or inviting employees is outside the scope of responsibilities for the program management team or the resident program coordinator.
